![]() Also, if there is anyone out there with professional expertise who could donate their services in advising me or helping me make this into an official charity, I would be so appreciative. They have cried tears of gratitude and given us spontaneous promises that they will pay-it-forward when they can. We have already used this fund for six patients. We will provide a receipt and a heartfelt thank you. We can also accept donations by ACH or cash. Donations can be made to Glover Family Medicine with "Helping Hands Fund" in the memo line and sent to Glover Family Medicine, 1840 Deer Creek Rd, Suite 101, Monument CO 80132. ![]() This fund does not have official charity status at this time. Just today I sent out a mass email to some of my patients hoping a few might have capacity and be willing to donate to these brothers and sisters in our local community. So far, myself, my parents, sisters, a couple of friends, and three patients have donated a little to this fund. We ask them to pay what they can, and then we still provide the rest of the service. We have been using this small fund to cover their in-house medical services when they can't, such as wholesale lab bills, medications from my wholesale pharmacy, medical visits, in-office procedures, etc. Starting in early to mid-March, we decided to serve them anyway for the next 12-18 months, even when they can't pay. Some of my patients cannot afford their medical services due to job loss, spousal job loss, or being shut down by an executive order. I promised my patients I would not abandon them during this time. Help: We started a new account on March 20 called the Helping Hands Fund. ![]() To be tranparent, we do also have some patients who have good insurance (such as Tricare Select). My clinic is a safety net for these types of patients. Individual medical insurance is just too expensive for them. Many of my other patients who are lucky enough to have insurance have very high deductible insurance with deductibles over $7000 or have a health share in lieu of insurance. Some make only a few thousand dollars per year too much for Medicaid. Many of my patients are un- or under-insured. Small businesses and small non-profits usually do not/cannot provide medical insurance to these patients. My main patient population is comprised of citizens who are self-employed (massage therapists, realtors, etc) or work for small businesses or small non-profits. Status: Family Medicine Clinic (healthcare) - Open and Fully Operationalīusiness Impact: I have a unique Direct Primary Care type of family medicine clinic.
